Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department in Lenexa, Kansas. This temporary position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, time-sensitive care to patients experiencing acute illness, injury, or trauma. The Emergency Department operates around the clock, requiring nurses who can remain calm under pressure while delivering excellent clinical care and emotional support to patients and their families during critical moments. Key Responsibilities include performing rapid triage assessments to prioritize patient needs, administering medications and treatments as ordered, monitoring vital signs and patient conditions, and collaborating with physicians and specialists to develop and implement care plans. Nurses will document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records, maintain a clean and safe environment, and respond swiftly to emergencies and code situations. Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team is essential to ensure seamless care transitions and positive outcomes. Required Qualifications include a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and Basic Life Support certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications are strongly preferred. Candidates should have prior emergency department or critical care nursing experience, strong assessment and decision-making skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
