Job Description
Drive agricultural sales and support farmers in Geneva, Nebraska as an Agronomy Sales professional at Farmers Cooperative, delivering expert crop solutions and building lasting customer relationships.
Full Description
Join Farmers Cooperative as an Agronomy Sales professional in Geneva, Nebraska, where you will serve as the trusted advisor for local farmers seeking to maximize their crop yields and profitability. In this full-time role, you will combine deep agronomic knowledge with strong sales acumen to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each grower in your territory. Your work will directly contribute to the success of area farms while strengthening the cooperative's position as a leading agricultural partner.
As an Agronomy Sales team member, you will conduct regular farm visits to assess crop conditions, soil health, and pest pressures, recommending the most effective seed varieties, fertilizers, crop protection products, and precision agriculture technologies. You will prepare customized crop plans and budgets for customers, monitor field performance throughout the growing season, and provide timely agronomic advice during critical decision points. Building and maintaining strong relationships is essential, as you will serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients while actively identifying and converting new prospects through networking, community involvement, and targeted outreach.
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in agronomy or a related agricultural field, combined with proven sales experience or a strong aptitude for consultative selling. A bachelor's degree in agronomy, crop science, soil science, or agricultural business is preferred, along with Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) certification or the willingness to obtain it. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and the physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Familiarity with precision agriculture tools, farm management software, and current agronomic trends will give applicants a competitive edge.
Farmers Cooperative offers a collaborative, farmer-owned environment where your contributions directly support local agriculture and rural communities. Team members enjoy competitive compensation, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, ongoing training in the latest agronomic practices and sales techniques, and clear pathways for professional advancement within the cooperative system. Whether you are passionate about helping farmers succeed or eager to grow your career in agricultural sales, this position provides meaningful work with tangible impact.
Growth opportunities include advancing into senior agronomy roles, territory management, or leadership positions within the cooperative's broader operations. Employees are encouraged to pursue additional certifications and education, with support from the organization to expand both technical and business development skills.
