Job Overview
The Manager, Sales Development at Salesforce leads a dynamic team responsible for generating high-quality sales opportunities and building robust pipelines that fuel company growth. Based in Chicago, this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on coaching to develop sales talent while meeting aggressive revenue targets. Key Responsibilities
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of sales development representatives to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual pipeline and revenue goals. Design and implement sales development strategies that align with broader organizational objectives and market demands. Analyze performance metrics and market data to identify opportunities for process improvement and team optimization. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment on target accounts, messaging, and go-to-market approaches. Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and skill development workshops to elevate team capabilities. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to adjust strategies and maintain Salesforce's market leadership position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field with five or more years of sales experience, including at least two years in a leadership or management capacity. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing high-performing teams. Strong understanding of sales development methodologies, CRM systems, and pipeline management processes. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
