Develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate with neonatologists, nurses, and specialists for seamless transitions, and educate parents on newborn health, feeding, and discharge planning. Participate in high-risk deliveries, resuscitations, and family-centered rounds, ensuring compliance with evidence-based protocols and quality standards. Document patient progress meticulously in electronic health records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including morbidity and mortality reviews.
Required Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program with certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Current APRN licensure in Washington State (or ability to obtain), minimum 2 years of NICU experience as an NNP or RN, and BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications. Strong knowledge of neonatal pathophysiology, pharmacology, and family dynamics is essential.
Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment and decision-making in high-pressure situations, proficient in neonatal resuscitation and procedural competencies, excellent communication for interdisciplinary collaboration and parent counseling, adaptability to level III/IV NICU demands, and commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
