Resurrection Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics department located in Chicago, Illinois. This vital role supports women throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery while ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for both mothers and newborns.
The Registered Nurse in Obstetrics will provide direct patient care including monitoring fetal heart rates, assisting physicians during labor and delivery, administering medications, and educating families on newborn care and breastfeeding techniques. Additional responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, developing individualized care plans, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions. The nurse will also support emergency situations, manage pain relief interventions, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Candidates must hold an active Illinois Registered Nurse license and possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. A minimum of two years of labor and delivery or postpartum nursing experience is required, along with current BLS and NRP certifications. Strong clinical assessment skills, knowledge of electronic health records, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
