Job Overview Maximus, a leader in government health and human services programs, is hiring an Amazon Connect Developer to enhance our contact center capabilities. Based in Wichita, KS, this full-time role involves leveraging AWS Amazon Connect to build scalable, efficient customer service solutions that support our mission of delivering superior public services. Key Responsibilities Develop and deploy Amazon Connect contact flows, leveraging Lambda functions, Lex bots, and other AWS services to create seamless customer experiences. Integrate Amazon Connect with CRM systems, databases, and third-party tools to enable advanced routing, analytics, and reporting features. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure high availability and performance. Monitor and troubleshoot contact center operations using CloudWatch, Kinesis, and other AWS monitoring tools, optimizing for cost-efficiency and scalability. Participate in agile sprints, conducting code reviews, unit testing, and deployment via CI/CD pipelines to deliver iterative improvements. Stay current with AWS updates and best practices to recommend enhancements that align with organizational goals. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 3-5 years of experience in software development with a focus on cloud contact centers. Proven hands-on experience with Amazon Connect, including contact flows, instances, and integrations. AWS certification such as AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate is highly preferred. Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or Java for backend development. Skills Deep knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, Lex, S3, DynamoDB, and API Gateway. Experience with contact center technologies, telephony protocols (SIP, WebRTC), and IVR systems. Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL), RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a track record of optimizing system performance and resolving complex issues. Strong communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and documenting technical solutions. Agile methodologies experience, including Scrum or Kanban.
