Full Description
Job Overview
Aveanna Healthcare, a leading provider of pediatric and adult home health services, is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) for part-time opportunities in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. In this rewarding role, you will deliver compassionate, skilled nursing care directly in patients' homes, focusing on pediatric and adult populations with complex medical needs. Our mission is to empower patients to thrive at home through personalized care plans, innovative therapies, and unwavering support. As a part-time RN, you will enjoy flexible scheduling while making a profound impact on families in your community.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include conducting comprehensive patient assessments to identify health needs and develop individualized care plans. You will administer medications, perform wound care, and execute treatments as prescribed by physicians, while closely monitoring patient progress and vital signs. Educating patients and families on disease management, self-care techniques, and preventive health measures is essential to promote independence and recovery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists and physicians, to ensure seamless care coordination. Document all interventions accurately in electronic health records, adhering to HIPAA and company protocols. Respond promptly to patient emergencies, providing life-saving interventions when needed, and maintain a safe, clean environment during home visits.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a current, active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois, issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. A valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in home health, pediatrics, or acute care settings. Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) is mandatory. Successful completion of a criminal background check, TB test, and physical exam is required prior to employment. Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes is essential.
Skills
Exceptional clinical skills in assessment, IV therapy, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management are crucial. Strong communication abilities enable clear interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Compassion, empathy, and cultural sensitivity foster trust in diverse home environments. Excellent time management and organizational skills support efficient visit scheduling and prioritization. Problem-solving prowess helps navigate unique home health challenges, while a commitment to evidence-based practice ensures optimal patient outcomes.
