Job Overview Hartford HealthCare Medical Group Specialists is seeking a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic primary care team in Morris. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages, from routine check-ups and preventive care to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver patient-centered care in a supportive and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities You will conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing interpretation. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide counseling on health maintenance and disease prevention. Manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, while handling acute conditions like infections and injuries. Perform minor procedures, order and interpret lab tests and imaging, and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed. Educate patients and families on lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and wellness strategies. Maintain accurate electronic health records, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold a Master's degree or higher in Nursing (for FNPs) from an accredited program with national certification (e.g., ANCC or AANP), or a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies with NCCPA certification. Active, unrestricted state licensure as an FNP or PA in Connecticut is required, along with at least 2 years of clinical experience in primary care or family medicine preferred. Current DEA registration and BLS certification are essential. Strong clinical judgment and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting are critical.
