Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical unit in Chicago. This vital role involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients recovering from illness, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. The RN will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote healing, prevent complications, and support patient recovery in a supportive, mission-driven environment. As a Med Surg Registered Nurse, key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized care plans, administering medications safely, monitoring vital signs, and documenting all clinical activities accurately. The RN will educate patients and families on post-discharge care, manage wound care and pain control, coordinate with physicians and specialists, and respond swiftly to changes in patient condition. Additional duties involve preparing patients for procedures, maintaining infection control standards, and participating in quality improvement initiatives within the unit. Required qualifications include an active Illinois Registered Nurse license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and current BLS certification. Preferred candidates will hold ACLS certification and have at least one year of acute care or medical-surgical nursing experience. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting are essential.
