Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska is actively recruiting a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a Hospitalist within our pediatric healthcare team. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity for advanced practice providers to deliver high-quality inpatient care to children and adolescents in a leading regional medical center. The role requires close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient management throughout the hospital stay.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating care transitions. The provider will manage acute and chronic conditions, perform procedures within their scope of practice, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Daily rounds, family education, and multidisciplinary team meetings are integral components of this position.
Required qualifications include current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Nebraska, national certification, and BLS/PALS certification. A minimum of two years of pediatric or hospitalist experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
