The provider will perform emergency procedures such as suturing, splinting, and airway management when necessary. Additional duties encompass documenting patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record, prescribing medications within scope of practice, educating patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up care, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The role also involves collaborating with specialists for complex cases and ensuring seamless transitions of care for admitted or discharged patients. Required Qualifications for this position include current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Missouri, national board certification in Emergency Medicine or a related specialty, and a minimum of two years of experience in an emergency department or urgent care setting. Candidates must possess current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. A Master's degree from an accredited program is required, along with a valid DEA registration.
