Resurrection Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Recovery unit in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide critical post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The Recovery Nurse plays an essential role in monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and ensuring patients transition safely from the operating room to their next phase of care. Key responsibilities include continuous monitoring of patients' vital signs and consciousness levels following surgical procedures, administering medications for pain management and nausea control, assessing patients for complications and responding to emergency situations, documenting all care provided in electronic medical records, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members, educating patients and families about recovery expectations and discharge instructions, and maintaining a safe, clean recovery environment. Required qualifications include an active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred, current BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum of one year experience in post-anesthesia care, critical care, or emergency nursing, and strong knowledge of anesthesia medications and their effects.
