Full Description
Sephora is looking for a talented DevOps Software Engineer to join our technology team and help drive the evolution of our digital infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust deployment pipelines, managing cloud environments, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of systems that power our global beauty retail operations. Working closely with development and operations teams, you will play a critical role in accelerating software delivery while maintaining the highest standards of security and performance.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows, automating infrastructure provisioning using modern Infrastructure as Code practices, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting production issues to maintain uptime and service quality. You will also collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application performance, implement security best practices across the technology stack, and contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Additionally, this position involves evaluating new tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency and mentoring junior team members on DevOps methodologies and tools.
To succeed in this position, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, along with at least three years of professional experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering roles. Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is essential, as is hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or Go, along with a solid understanding of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Additional required skills include experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet, familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack, and a strong grasp of networking concepts and security principles. Excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively in fast-paced agile environments are also important for this role. Preferred qualifications include relevant industry certifications and previous experience in the retail or e-commerce sector.
Sephora is a global leader in beauty retail, offering employees the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and inclusive workplace. Team members enjoy comprehensive benefits including competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, generous paid time off, retirement savings plans, and employee discounts on premium beauty products. Professional development is strongly supported through training programs, conference attendance, and clear career progression paths within the organization. This position offers significant growth opportunities for individuals passionate about DevOps practices and cloud-native technologies.
