Join DICK'S Sporting Goods as a Part-Time Sales Associate in the Footwear department at our Grand Island, Nebraska location. In this customer-focused retail role, you will play a vital part in helping athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and active individuals find the perfect footwear to support their performance and lifestyle goals. Our team members deliver exceptional service by engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending the right products from our extensive selection of athletic, casual, and outdoor footwear.
Key Responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers in the footwear department, providing expert product knowledge on various brands, styles, and technologies, helping customers find the right fit and style for their activities, maintaining organized and well-stocked displays, processing transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, and ensuring the sales floor remains clean and inviting. Associates are also responsible for restocking merchandise, monitoring inventory levels, participating in team meetings and training sessions, and meeting individual and store sales goals.
Required Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required, availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and the physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing ladders. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for sports and fitness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
