Job Overview: American Family Care (AFC), a leading provider of urgent care services, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Boulder, CO clinic. In this full-time position, you will deliver comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages dealing with acute illnesses, injuries, and preventive health needs in a dynamic, patient-centered urgent care setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing interpretation. Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute conditions such as infections, sprains, lacerations, and chronic disease exacerbations. Order and interpret lab tests, X-rays, and other diagnostics; prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate. Perform minor procedures like suturing, splinting, and wound care. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care plans. Educate patients on treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. Manage high patient volumes efficiently while prioritizing quality and safety. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic operations as needed. Required Qualifications: Active Colorado Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license. National certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA). Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in urgent care, primary care, or emergency medicine preferred. DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification required. Master's degree from an accredited NP or PA program. Skills: Strong clinical judgment and decision-making under pressure. Excellent diagnostic and procedural abilities. Superior communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions. Proficiency in EHR systems like Epic or similar. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
