Theoria Medical is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our internal medicine team in Colby, Kansas on a PRN basis. This per diem role provides flexible scheduling while allowing you to deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients in a clinical setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications within scope of practice, performing routine physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role also involves educating patients on preventive care, lifestyle modifications, and managing follow-up appointments to monitor progress. Additionally, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans and refer patients to specialists as needed.
Required Qualifications include current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Kansas, national certification through appropriate boards, at least one year of experience in internal medicine or primary care, BLS certification, and a valid driver's license. Advanced practice registered nurses must hold prescriptive authority in Kansas.
Required Skills include strong clinical judgment, excellent communication abilities, proficiency in electronic health records, time management skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
