Full Description

U-Haul is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team in Pleasanton, California. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, assisting with equipment rentals, reservations, and providing guidance on moving and storage solutions. Your daily interactions will help customers navigate their rental needs while ensuring a positive experience from inquiry to return. This position plays a vital role in maintaining U-Haul's reputation for reliable, friendly service across the moving and storage industry. Key Responsibilities include greeting customers in person and over the phone, processing rental agreements and reservations using company software systems, explaining rental terms, rates, and equipment features, handling payments and completing transactions accurately, inspecting rental equipment before and after use to document condition, and resolving customer concerns or complaints professionally. You will also maintain cleanliness and organization of the rental office and equipment lot, restock supplies, and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient operations during peak rental periods. Required Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, previous customer service or retail experience preferred, strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset. Essential Skills include active listening, problem-solving, time management, cash handling accuracy, and the ability to learn and use rental management software efficiently. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with equipment as needed is also important.
