Doctors Hospital in Parker, Colorado is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join its Medical Oncology department. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing treatment for various types of cancer. The oncology unit is known for its supportive team environment and commitment to clinical excellence, offering nurses the chance to work alongside experienced oncologists, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, administering chemotherapy and other oncology medications, monitoring patient responses and managing side effects, providing education to patients and families about treatment plans and self-care strategies, collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, documenting all care activities accurately in the electronic health record, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
Required Qualifications include an active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred, current Basic Life Support certification, and a minimum of one year of oncology or acute care nursing experience. Chemotherapy certification is strongly preferred.
Skills required for success include strong clinical assessment abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with electronic medical records, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
