Resurrection Medical Center is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Unit in Chicago, Illinois. This part-time role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where quick thinking and clinical expertise are essential. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing immediate care to patients experiencing medical emergencies, trauma, and acute illnesses. Working collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals, the RN will ensure that each patient receives timely, evidence-based treatment in accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities include performing rapid patient assessments, triaging cases based on severity, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and initiating life-saving interventions when necessary. The nurse will also document all care activities accurately in electronic medical records, maintain a safe and sterile environment, and communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide reassurance and education during stressful situations. Additional duties involve coordinating with ancillary departments for diagnostic testing and transfers, participating in emergency drills, and upholding infection control and patient safety standards at all times. Required Qualifications for this position include an active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and current BLS and ACLS certifications. A minimum of one year of emergency department or critical care nursing experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and familiarity with emergency protocols are also essential.
