Full Description

BECU is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our technology team in North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative financial technology solutions that directly impact the lives of credit union members across the region. The Senior Software Developer will play a critical role in architecting and building scalable applications that enhance banking services and member experiences. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, business analysts, and quality assurance specialists to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, efficient code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior developers. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle from initial concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance. Additionally, you will evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field along with five or more years of professional software development experience. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is required, along with demonstrated expertise in database management systems and cloud platforms. Strong understanding of software design patterns, version control systems, and agile development methodologies is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively in collaborative environments. Key technical skills include experience with microservices architecture, RESTful API development, and continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Familiarity with financial services technology, regulatory compliance requirements, and secure coding practices is highly valued. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are important for success in this role. BECU is a member-owned credit union dedicated to providing exceptional financial services with a focus on community impact and member satisfaction. As an employee, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including competitive compensation, health insurance coverage, retirement savings plans with employer contributions, and generous paid time off. The organization supports professional development through training programs, conference attendance, and tuition reimbursement opportunities. Career growth opportunities include advancement into technical leadership roles, architecture positions, or management tracks within the technology organization. Employees have access to mentorship programs and ongoing learning resources designed to support long-term career progression. BECU fosters an inclusive workplace culture that values diverse perspectives and encourages innovation at all levels of the organization.
