Job Overview: Saint Luke's Physician Group, a leading healthcare provider in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the Medical Intermediate unit. Key Responsibilities: The Nurse Manager will supervise daily operations of the Medical Intermediate unit, including staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and mentoring. You will develop and implement care protocols, monitor patient safety metrics, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission and CMS guidelines. Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to optimize workflows, manage budgets, and address quality improvement initiatives. Handle patient and family concerns, facilitate admissions and discharges, and lead emergency response efforts. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decisions and staff development programs. Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. A minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in intermediate or acute care, plus 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role, is essential. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory, with additional certifications like CEN or CCRN highly desirable. Proven track record in unit management, staff development, and achieving quality benchmarks is required. Skills: Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities to motivate diverse nursing teams. Strong clinical knowledge of medical intermediate care, including telemetry monitoring, post-surgical recovery, and chronic condition management. Proficiency in healthcare IT systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and reporting. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills for interacting with patients, families, and stakeholders.
