Job Overview Theoria Medical is seeking a dedicated PRN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Wilson, KS. This per diem role offers flexible scheduling for healthcare professionals passionate about delivering exceptional primary care services to patients in long-term care and post-acute facilities. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will conduct thorough patient assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with facility staff to optimize patient outcomes in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will perform comprehensive history and physical examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests as needed. You will manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and COPD, while also addressing preventive care, wound management, and palliative care needs. Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and facility administrators is essential to ensure seamless care delivery, regulatory compliance, and improved quality metrics. Additionally, you will document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records, participate in care plan development, and provide education to patients and families on health management strategies. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold a valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Kansas, with national certification from an accredited body such as ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA. A Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies is required, along with a minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care, geriatrics, or long-term care settings. Current DEA registration and BLS certification are mandatory, with ACLS preferred. Strong knowledge of Medicare guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and evidence-based practices is essential. Skills Successful candidates demonstrate exceptional clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, proficiency in electronic medical records systems, and excellent communication abilities for patient interactions and team collaboration.
