Full Description

Matrix Medical Network is seeking dedicated Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our team in Lynchburg, Virginia on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This role provides an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals looking to apply their clinical expertise while enjoying scheduling flexibility in a supportive environment. Our providers conduct comprehensive health assessments and deliver quality care to patients across different community and clinical settings, helping to bridge gaps in healthcare access. Key responsibilities include performing thorough patient evaluations, obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic tests to support accurate care planning. Providers will document findings in electronic health records, communicate effectively with patients and collaborating physicians, and ensure compliance with all clinical protocols and regulatory requirements. Additional duties may involve educating patients on preventive care and managing follow-up recommendations based on assessment outcomes. Required qualifications include current, unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Virginia, along with national board certification in the respective discipline. Candidates must maintain active DEA registration if applicable and possess strong clinical assessment skills. A minimum of one year of experience in primary care, urgent care, or related settings is preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary for travel between patient sites. Essential skills include excellent clinical judgment, proficiency in electronic medical record systems, effective verbal and written communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates should demonstrate cultural competency, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings or weekends, is essential for this PRN role. Matrix Medical Network is a leading provider of in-home and community-based health assessments, partnering with health plans and providers to improve patient outcomes. Our organization values clinical excellence, integrity, and compassionate service while offering providers opportunities for professional development. PRN team members enjoy competitive compensation on a per-assessment basis, mileage reimbursement, and flexible scheduling that accommodates personal and professional commitments. Growth opportunities include access to continuing education resources, potential transition to regular part-time or full-time positions, and collaboration with a network of experienced healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing community health.
