Full Description
Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking an experienced Lead Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Oncology department in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time leadership role involves providing expert clinical care, mentoring clinical staff, and advancing oncology patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.
In this position, you will manage complex oncology cases, conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and coordinate care across multiple specialties. You will also lead quality improvement initiatives, supervise and support advanced practice providers, participate in tumor boards, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include patient and family education, clinical research support, and contributing to the development of oncology protocols and best practices.
Candidates must hold current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Illinois, along with national certification in their respective field. A minimum of five years of oncology experience is required, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with electronic medical records are essential.
