Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, follow-up care, and preventive health measures. Document all interventions accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control practices, equipment sterilization, and emergency preparedness protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, code teams, and rapid response activations to enhance department performance. Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois without restrictions. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) from an accredited program. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire. Minimum of 1 year of acute care or emergency nursing experience strongly preferred. TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification is a plus. Skills: Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making under pressure. Strong clinical assessment and prioritization abilities. Proficient in emergency interventions and life-support techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient advocacy and team coordination. Ability to multitask in a chaotic, fast-paced environment while maintaining composure. Tech-savvy with EHR systems like Epic and monitoring equipment. Cultural sensitivity and empathy for diverse patient populations. Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
