Sinai Chicago is seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care across medical and surgical units. This vital role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with varying medical conditions and surgical recovery needs. The nurse will collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing wound care, assisting with procedures, and educating patients and families about treatment plans and recovery processes. The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records, respond to emergencies, and advocate for patients while adhering to evidence-based practices and hospital protocols. Additional duties involve coordinating discharges, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and supporting new staff through mentorship and training programs. Required qualifications include an active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and current Basic Life Support certification. Candidates should possess strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to prioritize multiple patient needs, and experience working in acute care settings. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing.
