Snap Inc. is seeking a talented Level 4 iOS Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in New York. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications that deliver exceptional user experiences on the Snapchat platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and backend engineers to implement new features and optimize existing functionality. The position requires a deep understanding of iOS development frameworks and the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that scales to millions of users. Key Responsibilities include architecting and implementing complex iOS features using Swift and Objective-C, optimizing app performance and memory usage, collaborating with designers to ensure pixel-perfect UI implementations, writing comprehensive unit and integration tests, participating in code reviews to maintain high code quality standards, debugging and resolving production issues, and mentoring junior engineers on best practices. You will also work with product teams to define technical requirements and contribute to technical roadmap planning. Required Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, five or more years of professional iOS development experience, strong proficiency in Swift and Objective-C programming languages, experience with iOS frameworks such as UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data, and Core Animation. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in building scalable mobile applications and have a solid understanding of software development lifecycle processes. Skills essential for success include expertise in mobile app architecture patterns such as MVVM and MVC, proficiency with version control systems like Git, experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, knowledge of RESTful APIs and networking protocols, familiarity with testing frameworks including XCTest, and strong problem-solving abilities. Experience with performance profiling tools and debugging techniques is highly valued.
