Job Overview AgHires is actively recruiting an Independent Seed Sales Representative to manage and grow seed sales throughout the Kansas territory. This position offers a unique opportunity for experienced agricultural sales professionals who value independence and flexibility. The role is based in Norton, Kansas, and focuses on building strong relationships with local farmers and agricultural businesses to deliver high-quality seed products tailored to their operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Prospect and develop new customer accounts while maintaining and expanding existing relationships with growers across the assigned Kansas territory. Conduct field visits to assess customer needs, recommend appropriate seed varieties, and provide expert guidance on crop planning and seed selection. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets by effectively presenting product benefits and negotiating favorable terms. Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and new seed technologies to maintain a competitive edge. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory needs using company systems. Participate in local agricultural events, trade shows, and community outreach to strengthen brand presence and generate leads. Required Qualifications A minimum of two years of experience in agricultural sales, preferably within the seed or crop input industry. Demonstrated success in territory management and achieving sales goals. Strong understanding of Kansas farming practices and regional crop varieties. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust with diverse customers. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory. Skills Proven relationship-building and consultative selling abilities. Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of seed genetics, crop protection, and agronomic principles.
