Job Overview
Wolters Kluwer is seeking a seasoned Lead Product Software Engineer - Cloud Ops to join our innovative team in Wichita, KS. In this pivotal full-time role, you will spearhead cloud operations for our market-leading SaaS platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. As a technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud infrastructure, automate deployments, and drive operational excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure using AWS, Azure, or GCP services. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and monitoring solutions to enhance system reliability and performance. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster best practices in DevOps and SRE methodologies. Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to align cloud ops strategies with business objectives. Ensure compliance with security standards, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices. Optimize costs through resource management, scaling strategies, and efficient cloud architecture.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred. Minimum 8+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 4 years focused on cloud operations and DevOps. Proven track record leading engineering teams in cloud-native environments. Strong expertise in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Skills
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java for automation and tooling. Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including EC2, Lambda, RDS, and EKS. Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control systems like Git. Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a passion for operational efficiency. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent are highly desirable.
