The Nurse Practitioner Acute Care - Cardiology position at Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized cardiac care within a prestigious medical center located in Houston, Texas. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with cardiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, diagnose, and manage complex cardiac cases while ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive cardiac assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs and echocardiograms, managing acute cardiac events, prescribing appropriate medications, and developing individualized treatment plans. The role also involves educating patients and families on cardiovascular health, participating in care coordination, documenting clinical encounters accurately, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the cardiology department.
Required qualifications include current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas, national certification in Acute Care, and previous experience in cardiology or critical care settings. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
