Halter is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales to lead our commercial efforts across the Great Plains region. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies that expand market presence and drive sustainable revenue growth. The position combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership to build a high-performing sales team while cultivating lasting relationships with key agricultural customers.
The Head of Sales will oversee the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through contract negotiation and account management. Key responsibilities include setting ambitious yet achievable sales targets, coaching and mentoring sales representatives, analyzing market trends, and identifying new business opportunities within the livestock and farming sectors. The role requires regular travel throughout Kansas and surrounding states to meet with producers, attend industry events, and strengthen Halter's brand recognition.
Candidates must possess at least seven years of progressive sales experience, with a minimum of three years in a sales leadership capacity. A proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in agricultural, technology, or B2B markets is essential. Strong knowledge of the Great Plains agricultural landscape and existing relationships with ranchers and farming operations are highly valued. A bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
Essential skills include exceptional communication and presentation abilities, strategic thinking, data-driven decision making, and proficiency with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.
