Sciton is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our dynamic engineering team at our Palo Alto headquarters. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on advanced medical device software that directly impacts patient care and clinical outcomes. As a key member of our development team, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups including hardware engineers, clinical specialists, and product managers to design, develop, and maintain sophisticated software applications for our industry-leading medical laser systems. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks, participating in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables, debugging and troubleshooting complex software issues across multiple platforms, and collaborating with quality assurance teams to develop comprehensive test strategies. You will also contribute to technical documentation, maintain existing codebases, and participate in agile development processes that drive continuous improvement and innovation in our medical device products. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, with a minimum of three years of professional software development experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python, along with experience in software development lifecycle methodologies. Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards including FDA guidelines and ISO 13485 is highly preferred. Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and user interface development will be considered advantageous. Essential technical skills include expertise in software architecture and design patterns, proficiency with version control systems such as Git, and experience with integrated development environments and debugging tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required, along with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
