Resurrection Medical Center is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive patient assessments upon arrival, prioritizing care based on acuity levels, and implementing evidence-based nursing interventions for patients experiencing medical emergencies, trauma, and acute illnesses. You will administer medications, perform advanced life support procedures, coordinate with physicians and specialists, document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records, and educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge instructions. Additional duties include maintaining emergency equipment readiness, participating in quality improvement initiatives, mentoring new staff members, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies.
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of two years of emergency department or critical care nursing experience is required, with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications essential. Preferred qualifications include TNCC certification, CEN credential, and bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional clinical assessment skills, strong critical thinking abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with electronic health record systems, and the capacity to remain calm and effective during high-stress emergency situations.
