Pure Storage is looking for a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support State, Local, and Education (SLED) customers throughout Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. This senior technical sales role bridges the gap between customer requirements and Pure Storage's industry-leading data storage solutions, helping public sector organizations modernize their infrastructure with high-performance, scalable, and secure storage platforms. The position involves deep engagement with IT decision-makers to understand their challenges and design tailored solutions that meet strict compliance and performance requirements. Key Responsibilities include leading technical discovery sessions with SLED prospects, developing detailed solution architectures, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and creating customized proof-of-concept environments. You will collaborate closely with account executives to qualify opportunities, respond to RFPs and RFIs, and present technical value propositions to diverse stakeholders including CIOs, directors of infrastructure, and procurement teams. Additional duties involve maintaining deep product knowledge, participating in industry events, and providing post-sale technical support to ensure successful implementations and customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications for this role include a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, along with five or more years of pre-sales engineering experience in enterprise storage or data center technologies. Candidates must demonstrate proven success working with government or education accounts and possess strong knowledge of storage protocols, virtualization platforms, and cloud integration strategies. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value are essential. Critical Skills needed for success include expertise in all-flash and hybrid storage architectures, familiarity with VMware, Microsoft, and open-source environments, and experience with data protection, disaster recovery, and compliance frameworks common in the public sector. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with a consultative approach to solution selling, are required.
