Join Caterpillar Inc. as a Sales Representative and play a vital role in delivering world-class construction and mining equipment solutions to businesses throughout Kansas. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging prospective customers, presenting tailored equipment options, and guiding clients through the entire sales process from initial contact to final delivery. Your efforts will directly contribute to expanding Caterpillar's market presence while ensuring customers receive the highest level of service and support. Key responsibilities include prospecting new business opportunities through cold calls, networking events, and industry referrals, maintaining an active pipeline of qualified leads, and consistently meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly sales quotas. You will conduct product demonstrations, prepare customized proposals and financing options, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and after-sales support. Building long-term relationships with existing clients through regular follow-ups and needs assessments will also be essential to drive repeat business and referrals. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with proven sales experience preferably in industrial equipment, construction, or heavy machinery sectors. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel frequently within the assigned Kansas territory. Strong negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency in CRM software such as Salesforce are required. Prior experience with Caterpillar products or similar heavy equipment brands is highly advantageous. Essential skills for success include relationship building, consultative selling, market analysis, and the ability to understand complex technical specifications. Candidates should demonstrate resilience in handling rejection, strong time management capabilities, and a customer-first mindset. Familiarity with financing options, leasing structures, and equipment specifications will help accelerate the sales cycle.
