Job Overview The MedElite Group, a leading healthcare provider in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking a dedicated Part-time Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients across all age groups, focusing on preventive care, acute illness management, and chronic disease treatment in an outpatient setting. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing orders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide health education to promote wellness and disease prevention. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and specialists, to ensure coordinated care delivery. Manage common primary care conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, respiratory infections, and minor injuries. Perform routine procedures like vaccinations, wound care, and joint injections. Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to clinical protocols and regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Active Nebraska state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. National certification from an accredited body (e.g., ANCC, AANP for NPs; NCCPA for PAs). Master's degree or higher from an accredited NP or PA program. Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in primary care or family medicine preferred. Current DEA registration and BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. Skills Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with proficiency in managing diverse patient populations. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with patients and families. Proficiency in EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner, and familiarity with telehealth platforms. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to cultural competence, empathy, and evidence-based practice. Organizational skills for prioritizing tasks and maintaining accurate records.
