Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Department team at MLee Medical Employment in Carlton, Kansas. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver critical care in a dynamic, high-volume emergency setting, making a direct impact on patient outcomes in urgent situations. Key Responsibilities As an ED provider, you will conduct rapid assessments and triage of patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions, from trauma and cardiac emergencies to infectious diseases and pediatric cases. Perform diagnostic procedures, interpret labs and imaging results, order and administer treatments, prescribe medications, and execute procedures such as suturing, splinting, intubations, and central line placements. Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, nurses, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement care plans. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records, ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance department performance. Additionally, you will educate patients and families on discharge instructions, follow-up care, and preventive health measures. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted Kansas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, with national certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP for NPs; NCCPA for PAs). A Master's degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory, with ATLS certification preferred. Strong knowledge of emergency medicine principles and experience with EMR systems is essential.
