Key Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations on long-haul routes, adhering to all federal and state DOT regulations. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment, conduct vehicle maintenance checks, and report any issues promptly. Accurately complete electronic logging device (ELD) entries, trip reports, and delivery manifests to ensure compliance and efficiency. Load and unload cargo securely, verify shipment accuracy, and interact professionally with customers and shippers at pickup and delivery points. Plan efficient routes using GPS and mapping software to optimize fuel usage and meet delivery deadlines. Maintain a clean driving record and prioritize safety practices, including fatigue management and defensive driving techniques. Required Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with at least 2 years of verifiable OTR experience. Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and no DUI or major accidents. Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, drug screening, and background check. Minimum age of 23 years old. Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside repairs. High school diploma or equivalent. Skills Proficient in safe heavy vehicle operation and load securement. Strong time management and navigation abilities using ELD and GPS systems. Excellent communication skills for customer interactions and team coordination. Attention to detail for accurate documentation and inspections. Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual handling of freight.
