Job Overview
Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Physiatrist to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis. This position plays a vital role in delivering expert medical care focused on restoring function and improving quality of life for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. The Physiatrist will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Physiatrist will conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical impairments and functional limitations. They will diagnose conditions affecting the musculoskeletal and nervous systems and develop evidence-based treatment plans that may include physical therapy, medication management, and interventional procedures. The physician will coordinate care with therapists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure seamless rehabilitation services. Additional duties include monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment protocols as needed, and educating patients and families on recovery strategies. The role requires maintaining accurate medical documentation and adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. A valid and unrestricted medical license in Illinois is required, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications. Prior experience in physiatry or rehabilitation medicine within a hospital or clinical setting is strongly preferred.
