Job Overview: Stillwater Insurance Group is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our remote team. This full-time position allows you to work from anywhere in California, delivering top-tier support to our valued policyholders. As a key member of our customer-facing team, you will handle inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to customer inquiries through multiple channels including phone, email, online chat, and customer portals. Assist with policy questions, claims processing, billing disputes, and coverage explanations to ensure accurate and helpful resolutions. Document all interactions in our CRM system, escalating complex issues to supervisors or specialists as needed. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance products, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to customer retention efforts by identifying upsell opportunities and providing personalized service. Participate in quality assurance reviews and team meetings to continuously improve service delivery.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, or call center environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software such as Salesforce or similar platforms. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone demeanor. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and empathy to handle diverse customer needs. Typing speed of at least 40 WPM with accuracy. Familiarity with insurance terminology and concepts is a plus. Tech-savvy with comfort using remote collaboration tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack. Time management skills to meet performance metrics such as average handle time and first-call resolution rates. Adaptability to shifting priorities and a commitment to confidentiality with sensitive customer data.
