Landscape Consultants is seeking a motivated and creative Landscape Designer / Sales professional to join our growing team in New Cambria, Kansas. This dual-role position combines artistic design expertise with strong sales acumen, offering the opportunity to transform outdoor spaces while building meaningful client relationships. The successful candidate will work directly with residential and commercial clients to understand their vision, develop customized landscape plans, and guide projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities include meeting with prospective clients to assess property needs and design preferences, creating detailed landscape plans using industry-standard software, preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals, presenting design concepts and closing sales, coordinating with installation teams to ensure design integrity, maintaining relationships with existing clients for repeat business and referrals, staying current with plant materials, hardscape products, and design trends, managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, and representing the company at community events and industry shows.
Required Qualifications include a degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field, proven sales experience preferably in a design or service industry, strong portfolio demonstrating design capabilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software, valid driver's license and reliable transportation, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Essential Skills include landscape design principles, client relationship management, project estimation, sales negotiation, plant and material knowledge, time management, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
