Full Description
Resurrection Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Stepdown Unit in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized post-operative care to patients recovering from complex surgical procedures while working alongside an interdisciplinary team committed to clinical excellence.
In this role, you will be responsible for continuous patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, managing post-surgical complications, and administering medications as prescribed. You will coordinate care plans with physicians and other healthcare professionals, educate patients and families on recovery expectations, and maintain accurate electronic health records. Additional duties include responding to rapid response situations, ensuring patient safety protocols are followed, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Candidates must possess an active Illinois Registered Nurse license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of two years of acute care or stepdown nursing experience is required, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications. Strong critical thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with electronic medical record systems are essential for success in this position.
