Job Overview
OptiMindHealth, a leader in telepsychiatry services, is seeking a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our remote team serving patients in Santa Clarita, CA, and surrounding areas. This full-time position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere while delivering high-quality, compassionate mental health care via secure virtual platforms. As a key member of our innovative healthcare team, you will play a vital role in expanding access to psychiatric services for individuals across the community, helping to address the growing demand for mental health support in a convenient, remote format.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations through video consultations to assess patient mental health status, including history, symptoms, and risk factors. Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD using evidence-based practices. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle recommendations. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications while ensuring patient safety and adherence. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, primary care providers, and social workers, to provide holistic care. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations. Participate in case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatry.
Required Qualifications
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program with specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health. Current PMHNP-BC certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent. Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in California; additional state licenses preferred for broader patient reach. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric care, with telehealth experience highly desirable. DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
