Menards is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Part-Time Sales Associate to join our team at our Grand Island, Nebraska location. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a retail environment and helping customers find the products they need for their home improvement projects. As a Sales Associate, you will be the face of Menards, providing friendly, knowledgeable assistance to shoppers while maintaining the high standards of service that our customers expect. The role involves working in a fast-paced retail setting where no two days are the same, and you will have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of home improvement products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities include greeting customers and providing prompt, friendly assistance throughout the store. You will help customers locate specific products, answer questions about merchandise features and benefits, and guide them to make informed purchasing decisions. Additional duties include maintaining clean and organized product displays, restocking shelves as needed, processing transactions accurately at the register, and ensuring the sales floor remains presentable at all times. You will also assist with inventory management, help with receiving and unloading merchandise shipments, and support your team members during busy periods to ensure excellent customer experiences.
Required Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required, as comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Physical stamina is necessary as the role requires standing for extended periods, lifting merchandise up to 50 pounds, and navigating the sales floor throughout shifts.
Essential Skills for success include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, a positive attitude, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You should be comfortable learning about various product categories and be able to explain features to customers clearly. Basic computer skills and the ability to operate point-of-sale systems are important, along with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy retail environment.
