Husch Blackwell is seeking a dedicated Software Developer to join our technology team in Oakland, California. In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of custom software applications that support the firm's legal operations and client services. Working within a collaborative environment, you will help build scalable solutions that improve efficiency and deliver value across multiple practice areas. Key Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical specifications, designing and implementing software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks, maintaining and optimizing existing applications to ensure reliability and performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams including attorneys, IT staff, and project managers to deliver technology initiatives, participating in code reviews and quality assurance processes to maintain high development standards, documenting technical processes and maintaining comprehensive system documentation, troubleshooting and resolving software issues in a timely manner, and staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices. Required Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, demonstrated experience in software development with proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript, strong understanding of software development methodologies including Agile and Scrum, excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills, effective communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills required include object-oriented programming, database design and SQL, web application development, version control systems like Git, and API development and integration. Additional technical competencies in cloud platforms, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices are highly valued.
