The Customer Service Representative 1 serves as the primary point of contact for Recology customers, delivering exceptional support and resolving inquiries regarding waste management services across California.

In this role, you will serve as the frontline ambassador for customers across California, providing timely and professional assistance while supporting the company's commitment to environmental stewardship and community service.
As a Customer Service Representative 1, your key responsibilities include answering inbound calls and responding to customer inquiries via email and chat platforms. You will assist customers with service requests, billing questions, service changes, and account updates while maintaining accurate records in the company's customer relationship management system. Additional duties involve processing service orders, coordinating with field operations teams to resolve service issues, and escalating complex concerns to appropriate departments when necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent along with at least one year of customer service experience in a call center or office environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure under pressure. Proficiency with standard office software and customer database systems is required.
Successful team members demonstrate exceptional listening skills, patience, and a genuine desire to help others. You must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments while maintaining a positive attitude during challenging interactions. Bilingual skills are considered a plus but are not required.
