Job Overview: Orsini Healthcare, a leader in specialty pharmacy services, is seeking a dedicated Home Infusion Nurse to join our team in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. In this critical role, you will provide high-quality infusion therapy to patients in their homes, ensuring safe administration of complex medications for chronic conditions such as immune deficiencies, bleeding disorders, and neurological diseases. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to initiating infusion therapy, including vital signs monitoring, venous access evaluation, and allergy verification. Administer intravenous medications, biologics, and specialty therapies using precise protocols, while educating patients and caregivers on proper administration techniques, side effect management, and adherence strategies. Monitor patient responses during and post-infusion, promptly addressing any adverse reactions and documenting all activities in electronic health records for seamless care coordination. Maintain strict compliance with USP <797> standards, OSHA regulations, and state nursing board requirements, while managing inventory of infusion supplies and equipment. Travel to patient homes within the designated service area, prioritizing safety and efficiency in a field-based setting.
Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, with a BSN preferred and at least 2 years of clinical experience in infusion therapy, home health, or critical care. Current CPR certification and valid driver's license with reliable transportation required. IV certification or demonstrated proficiency in PICC line care, port access, and central line management is essential.
Skills: Exceptional clinical skills in infusion therapy and patient assessment, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with diverse patient populations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Office, and telehealth platforms. Ability to work independently in home settings, managing time efficiently while upholding the highest standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
