Job Overview Phelps County Regional Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in Nebraska, is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver comprehensive patient care across primary care, urgent care, and specialty services, contributing to our mission of exceptional healthcare in a community-focused setting. As an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside physicians, nurses, and support staff to enhance patient outcomes and promote wellness in Phelps County and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing interpretation. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and perform minor procedures such as suturing, casting, or injections. Order and analyze laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostics to accurately diagnose acute and chronic conditions. Provide patient education on disease prevention, treatment adherence, and lifestyle modifications to empower long-term health. Collaborate with healthcare teams in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care coordination to ensure seamless transitions and holistic care. Document all patient interactions meticulously in electronic health records (EHR) systems, adhering to compliance standards and best practices. Respond to urgent care needs, manage follow-up visits, and participate in on-call rotations as required to support 24/7 community access to care. Stay current with evidence-based practices through continuous professional development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Active Nebraska state licensure as an NP or PA, with national certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA). Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, family practice, urgent care, or internal medicine preferred. Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification required; additional specialty certifications a plus. Strong knowledge of current healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines. Skills Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making under pressure. Superior communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions and team collaboration. Proficiency in EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner, with strong computer literacy. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Compassionate bedside manner with cultural sensitivity to diverse patient populations. Analytical skills for interpreting complex medical data and adapting treatment plans.
