Job Overview: Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, a leading healthcare provider in Waterloo, Iowa, is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across various medical specialties, including internal medicine, cardiology, and orthopedics. You will play a vital role in diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and promoting preventive health measures in a collaborative environment focused on excellence and compassion. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests. Diagnose acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and implement therapeutic interventions in accordance with state regulations and practice protocols. Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate care, participate in case conferences, and ensure seamless patient transitions. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), adhere to compliance standards, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Handle follow-up visits, minor procedures, and urgent care needs as required. Required Qualifications: Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program. Current Iowa state licensure as an NP or PA, with national certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA). Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, specialty care, or hospital settings preferred. Valid DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification. Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and current healthcare guidelines. Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment and diagnostic abilities. Proficient in EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions and team collaboration. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
