Job Overview

In this full-time role, you will be the face of our discount retail chain, providing outstanding customer service, processing transactions, and ensuring a clean, organized store environment. Dollar Tree is America's leading dollar store, offering a wide variety of everyday essentials at unbeatable prices, and we pride ourselves on creating a fun, dynamic workplace where every associate contributes to our success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Associate I, you will greet customers warmly upon entry, answer inquiries about products, and recommend items to meet their needs. You will operate cash registers efficiently, handle multiple payment methods including cash, credit, and digital wallets, and process returns or exchanges according to company policies. Stocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and maintaining inventory levels will be daily tasks, ensuring the store remains visually appealing and fully stocked. You will also assist with unloading deliveries, pricing items accurately, and monitoring security to prevent loss. Cleaning and tidying aisles, front-end areas, and restrooms is essential to uphold our commitment to a safe and welcoming shopping experience. During peak hours, you may support promotional setups, help with crowd control, and collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, though we provide comprehensive training for motivated individuals. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks is necessary. Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts are required.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for engaging with diverse customers. You should demonstrate problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a positive attitude under pressure. Multitasking in a high-volume setting, along with teamwork and reliability, will set you apart. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills is beneficial.
